Do you know what climate change is?

  1. The Atmosphere stops the sun from burning us and the gases from escaping.
  2. There is no ozone above the Antarctic.
  3. Most energy sources produces gas and most of the gas harms the atmosphere.
  4. Sulfur dioxide reflects sunlight, that helps it to cool down the planet.
  5. When the amount of gas in the layers of the atmosphere changes, our climate conditions change as well.
  6. Without greenhouse gases (Carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen dioxide), Earth would be a very cold place.
  7. If there are too many greenhouse gases, earth would be a very hot place.
  8. The atmosphere is about 375m/600km high.
  9. There are 10 layers in the atmosphere.
  10. Sulfur dioxide is a heavy pollutant.

WALT understand climate change by using De Bono's white thinking hat.
I know I can do this when I write 10 facts and ask 10 Inquiry questions about what I have read.

Here Comes The Stegosaurus!

A stegosaurus is a dinosaur from the Jurassic period around 150 million years ago.

A stegosaurus was a  large and heavy dinosaur. A fully grown stegosaurus was around 9 metres or 30 feet in length. It could grow up to 4 metres or 14 feet in height. It was nearly 5,000 kilograms in weight!

The Stegosaurus is the most famous dinosaur from a group of dinosaurs known as Stegosauria. Stegosauria dinosaurs were all herbivores and had rows of unique bones the developed into plates and spines along their back and tail.

Did you know the the name 'Stegosaurus' comes from the Greek works 'stegos' meaning 'roof and 'sauros' meaning lizard?

The 17 plates that were found along the back of the Stegosaurus were on the skin rather being attached to the skeleton.

Stegosaurus fossils have been found in North America and more recently in Portugal.

WALT understand the structure of a report.
I know I can do this when I can write the title, followed by the details and then the conclusion.

Can we burn some Palm leaves today?

Learning Intention: WALT to make an inquiry for Ash Wednesday.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write three facts about Ash Wednesday and find out the answers using Google search.
