I Want to Be Like Kobe Bryant!

Kobe Bryant is a NBA player who is one of the leading players throughout the history of NBA.


Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia. He is the son of a NBA player named Joe Bryant. In 1984, after Joe ended his NBA career, Joe Bryant took the family to Italy where he played the Italian League. When the family returned to Philadelphia in 1991, Kobe joined the Lower Merion High School basketball team.

A few years later, Kobe decided to go straight into NBA from high school. In 1996, he was drafted by the Charlotte team and later was traded off to the Los Angeles Lakers. In his second season as a guard, with the Lakers. Kobe was voted a start for the All-star Game at the age of 19 becoming the youngest All-Star in NBA history.

A few seasons later, Kobe helped his team to make it to the 2008 NBA Finals. Sadly, the Lakers were defeated by the Boston Celties, but the Lakers returned the following year. In the 2009 NBA final, the Lakers beat Orlando Magic to win the finals.

On January 21, 2015, Kobe was injured from doing a two-handed dunk while playing against the New Orleans Pelicans. He had to have surgery for the injury and couldn't play for nine months
